The project to develop a strategy for craft houses was among the priorities of the Heritage Authority, and God granted us success in developing a strategic plan for craft houses and then an integrated operational plan to operate the craft houses with high efficiency.

The organization of training operations for craftsmen began through craftsmen's centers involved under the National Program for Crafts and Handicrafts “Bari’”, and through partnerships and agreements, promised events and training programs that continued until 2018 until the establishment of the Ministry of Culture and then the crafts sector in 2022 AD. On World Heritage Day corresponding to April 18 of 2022, the Crafts Houses Initiative project was announced and the launch began with the opening of three craftsmen’s houses in the Amiri School in Al-Ahsa, Al-Masoukef Market in Unaizah, and in the craftsmen’s market in Buraidah, and the journey continued to reach 13 craftsmen’s houses in 2023.
